As a photographer, I get to capture couples at their best. I feel like that shines through in these pictures of Sam and Madison. From the daisies to the hidden hat kiss, this session was playful and fun.
When Madison reached out to me about capturing their wedding, we instantly clicked. I always dreamed of having clients who I feel comfortable around and who give me creative freedom. I can step back and creatively capture them in love because they are. There’s no forcing them together, telling them to smile, or hoping they do something candidly cute. Just by being together and seeing how effortlessly in love they are, I can do my job and do it well.
Sam and Madison are one of my 2023 wedding couples. They both grew up with cattle and livestock and they wanted to do their photos in a pasture or field of some kind. Continental, OH was the perfect spot for this, thanks to a family friend who has a wide open pasture with wild, uncut grasses. The weather for our June session was perfect. We had the prettiest sunshine and warm temperatures. They brought along their two dogs and Madison’s sweet parents came to help hold onto the dogs and meet me before the wedding!
Sam and Madison met through mutual friends while Sam was in the army. Their first time meeting face to face was over Sam’s holiday leave. He went home after their date and told his whole family that he met his future wife. While on his holiday leave, they went from practical strangers to officially dating. When he had to return to Alabama in mid-January, they did long distance for about a year and a half. One of the only times they saw each other in person was in March of 2020 for the Army Ball, right before a lot of things shut down due to COVID. In May of 2021, he proposed to Madison. Now they are waiting on their October 2023 wedding!
It’s obvious by watching them together that Sam values Madison. He runs to her side of the car to open her door. He’s known to go out of his way to make her smile. As I was capturing them together, it was clear their love is built on solid ground. I’m counting down the days until I can capture them saying their vows in October and sealing the deal forever.
